Had so much fun at Voices last week we forgot to post a blog saying how it went! Well, as the “fun” in the preceding sentence suggests it went very well indeed… As well as backing tapes and a capella vocal stylings the *NEW* house guitar came into play several times, and a very welcome addition it was too. We hope it will see lots more action at future events, and we’ll see if we can come to some better mic arrangement to make the setup process a bit more fluid. It’s a learning curve for all of us – but a very enjoyable one!
Of course, Voices isn’t just about songs. We had a lovely mix of poets this time out and an excellent variety of styles. Several of those who read on the night (including Flitt & Folio, of course!) will be dishing up a smorgasbord of delicious verse at Tonbridge Calling on Saturday August 4th, so if you happen to be in the vicinity do pop in and say hello. You can even make a special trip if you want – it will definitely be worth it.
So, there you have it… If you missed it this time round DO make the next one. We haven’t quite got the date fixed yet but mid September is probably there or there about, so if you want to sing or read for us that’s how long you’ve got to hone your performance. We look forward to seeing you then.
