Gunpowder, Treason & Poets

We were gutted at having to cancel our planned Halloween special due to ill health but pleased to advise that Pam is well on the road to recovery and will be fighting fit for our next outing on November 4th. We’ll be joining forces with our lovely friends from Penshurst Amateur Dramatic Society (PADS) for this one, and it’s a specially themed evening with an open mic section celebrating, among other seasonal delights, the botched attempt by that malcontent, Fawkes, to blow up parliament.

Also on offer is a slightly expanded version of our ‘parade of poets’, a potted history of humorous verse down the ages that delighted audiences as part of this year’s Tunbridge Wells Poetry Festival. And as if that wasn’t enough, we’ve got food on the menu too (ha ha!) with a very special dining offer from our generous hosts at the Leicester Arms.

The evening itself is a free event but we do advise booking in advance so we can keep track of seating. Just book as normal using the restaurant booking form, and if you’re not dining (unlikely once you see what’s on offer!) you can indicate accordingly at step two of the booking process.

If you would like to book a slot in the open mic section just let us know via our contact form. Usual Voices ‘first come, first served’ rule applies, so get in quick!
