Yes, here we are again scheduling another instalment of wordy fun and lyrical waxings as we set up the mics and amps for VOICES THREE! That’s now confirmed for Thursday September 13th, so get your pens to paper and/or vocal cords nicely lubricated in readiness for blast off. Doors from 7:30 – words and stuff from 8:00pm
Voices two, if you read the blog, was a great success, and interest in the event at Tonbridge Calling was huge, so number three should be a real extravaganza. As with the previous events we will be sticking, for practical reasons, with the no instruments rule, but the “house” guitar and uke introduced for Voices Two will be on hand again and the PA system fully available for those who bring backing tracks along. So a-capella, guitar, uke or karaoke style – there are plenty of options available for crooners as well as spoken word performers. If you have a particular tune you would like to sing along to let us know in advance and we’ll do our damndest to find you a backing track, but DO remember to bring your own lyric sheets!
So there you have it, ladies and gentlemen, reasons to be cheerful indeed, and we hope to see you all there whether as performers or enthusiastic audience members. Entry is free either way, and it’s a lovely way to spend a Thursday evening in Lovely Tunbridge Wells. Get it down in your diaries – you know it makes sense…
IN OTHER NEWS: “Flitt & Folio” will be doing their poetry thing for Tonbridge Folk Club (“Nellies”) at The Flying Dutchman, Hildenborough on August 20th as support for Scallywag/GF-3/Voices stalwarts Pete and Paul. Starts at 8:00, don’t be late.
